Nearly 30 years in insurance.
More than 1,000 agencies visited.
More than 5,000 face-to-face agency visits.
More than 100,000 miles traveled in the field.
Thousands of conversations with agency owners, producers, and staff.
One operating system built specifically for community marketing.
I didn’t study insurance agencies from the outside.
I owned one. I produced and managed a couple. I managed territories filled with them. I worked alongside captive agents, independent agents, agency networks, vendors, and insurtech companies.
I’ve seen what works, what wastes money, what sounds good in a conference room, and what an actual insurance agency can realistically execute.
Those are the receipts.
My name is Duane DiCola, and I have worked in and around the insurance industry since 1997.
My experience includes:
From 2012 through 2020, I traveled across Western North Carolina as a territory manager for Smart Choice. During that time, I visited more than 1,000 insurance agencies, made over 5,000 agency visits, and drove more than 100,000 miles.
Those years gave me an education no classroom or marketing textbook could provide.
I sat across from startup agents trying to establish themselves, experienced owners preparing for their next stage, producers fighting burnout, and agency teams buried under competing priorities.
Different agencies. Different markets. Different carriers.
But the same challenge kept appearing.
Most insurance agencies do not suffer from a shortage of ideas.
They suffer from a shortage of:
Agencies sponsor schools, donate to nonprofits, attend community events, join chambers, buy promotional products, operate booths, and build local relationships.
But too often, those activities remain disconnected.
There is no clear strategy before the opportunity.
No consistent process during it.
No disciplined follow-up afterward.
No reliable way to measure what worked.
No system for turning one activity into long-term visibility, relationships, referrals, and growth.
I call them random acts of marketing.
That is the problem I decided to solve.
I created Agents in the Community™ to help insurance agencies turn community involvement into an intentional growth strategy.
That work eventually became the Agents in the Community Operating System™—AITC OS™.
AITC OS is not another collection of marketing ideas. It is a structured operating system that helps an agency:
The system includes planning tools, cost projections, execution checklists, follow-up templates, KPI tracking, debrief scorecards, partnership strategies, and 90-day sprint planning.
Your agency management system manages policies.
AITC OS manages presence.
Community marketing is not simply attending events, writing checks, handing out swag, or posting photographs afterward.
Done correctly, it is a business discipline.
It brings together:
I specialize in helping insurance agencies turn those moving parts into a repeatable system.
I did not invent community involvement.
I created an operating system to help insurance agencies do it intentionally, consistently, and measurably.
AITC OS is the culmination of:
The tools inside AITC OS were not created to impress marketers.
They were created to help busy insurance agencies get meaningful work done.
Local insurance agencies possess an advantage that lead vendors, national call centers, and faceless digital competitors cannot easily duplicate.
They can be present.
They can teach, serve, sponsor, connect, introduce, support, and become part of the fabric of their communities.
But presence does not happen because an agency occasionally writes a sponsorship check.
It requires a plan, a team, a process, and consistent execution.
That is where AITC comes in.
We help agencies replace random acts of marketing with purposeful community growth—and become more visible, more valuable, more connected, and more trusted.
We help them become the agency their community knows and chooses.
We help them become a Local Legend™.
I spent much of my career studying agencies, solving problems, building relationships, and developing the ideas behind this system.
Now the mission is bigger.
Help Agents Thrive.
Not with more noise.
Not with empty marketing promises.
Not with another complicated platform nobody has time to use.
With practical systems, disciplined execution, genuine relationships, and community-driven growth.
The foundation has been built.
The system is ready.
The receipts are right here.
Now we take big swings.
Discover how AITC OS can help your agency build a more visible, valuable, and trusted presence in your community.
